The open gallery is dedicated to the Souss River, which gave its name to the region and whose bed, usually dry, is 3 kilometers north of the Garden of Stars. The gallery measures 20 meters by three meters and is the gateway to the riad. It is an extraordinary pleasant place to stick both day - to find the freshness - that night as a shelter overlooking the illuminated pool.

The walls are recovered with gross tadelakt, clearer at the ceiling than on the walls. The lamps are in fact terracota lanterns from Sidi Bibi (south of Agadir). They have been turned in a way very inventively. The gallery comes into its own at night when the five lanterns at the ceiling and the seven lights at the walls are lighted.

The floor is covered with terracotta of Tamaloukt, village of the Atlas near Taroudant. The sofa, the armchairs and the coffee table are made with dum of the Atlas. The dum is a small palm tree which the shepherds use the stems to turn them into a kind of cord, guarantee of solidity. This expression of tradition adopts simple lines, so contemporary.

The blue and gray reversible cushions, made artisanally by weavers of Agadir, increase your comfort. At night, the cushions are stored in the Atlas Lounge, so as to be protected from birds, so many in the Garden of Stars. They thus complement a beautiful harmony with the cushions of the eight metal chairs.

The front door of the riad

The Souss gallery is also the entrance door of the villa. On the left, a wrought copper plate includes the logo of your house for rent, and three terracotta pots decorated with palm trees, moon and stars, and where grow succulents.

Our beautiful rectangular table with zelliges is sometimes installed in the gallery, sometimes around the pool, according to the season. The eight iron chairs are covered with double-sided pads, blue and light gray.

The gallery is also used for exhibitions of the Agadir region artists. Currently, you can see the creations of Khalid Assallami, young Berber which revisits the roots of Morocco by the counting, otherwise the abstraction. He also presented his iron sculptures to the French Institute of Agadir.
